It all begins with me.
My complexion reflects a deep mahogany hue, influenced by my upbringing in southern African-American culture but not defined by it alone. My body is a masterpiece of natural design, showcasing lovely imperfections that only my art can mend:

  • My feet ground me in humility.

  • My legs propel me ambitiously towards the stars.

  • My spine moves malleably like the changing wind.

  • My arms, stretching out in opposing directions, converge in the middle, a reminder to stay centered.

  • My eyes observe the world, mindful of my past, present, and future.

  • My heart brims with emotion and vulnerability.

  • My mind, a blend of creativity and analysis, strategically unravels challenges, exploring a myriad of solutions.

I envision a broader perspective as I dance. At my core, I am a creator, with movement as my fluent language. Through dance, I aim to create an interactive space that involves the community in both the dance and the dialogue. Advocating for social change, my work invites audiences to engage deeply, navigating issues of Sexuality, Gender Equality, Race, and Identity. By using diverse movement forms, I strive to unify communities, emphasizing collaboration as a cornerstone of my art. All bodies matter and it is important for me to meet every body where they are in the creative process. Vulnerability is key. I aim to cultivate a safe environment where dancers and viewers can authentically express themselves, moving together through shared vulnerability.

My artistic endeavors serve a higher purpose. Movement transcends boundaries of race, gender, and belief. Through dance, I reveal my true self to the audience, embracing vulnerability as a means to convey our truths and build a community. My art serves as a bridge, fostering honest conversations and attentive listening, uniting us in a shared journey of creativity and community.
